Background

• MS B DAB with Resulting Down-Select to IBCS Prime Contractor

(Northrop Grumman) Completed in December 2009
• Program Restructure Approved in February 2012
– Remove MEADS, SLAMRAAM
– AIAMD Architecture Expanded to Incorporate Brigade Combat Teams (ADAM
Cell), ADA Brigade, AAMDC Headquarters and Indirect Fire Protection
Capability (IFPC)/Avenger Battalions, Componentized Patriot system
– Army Acquisition Objective Revised to Meet User Requirements (285  431)

• Minor schedule adjustment in 2013 based on Software

Development challenges with Prime
• PB 15 Funding Reduction Resulted in MS C and IOC Date
Changes with APB Schedule Breach
– Revised Acquisition Program Baseline (APB) approved in October 2014

• Army made a risk-based decision in FY 17 to reschedule MS C to

2020 and IOC to 2022

Army IAMD Program Pillars

• Provide Common Net-Centric Mission Command (MC)

Capability
– All mission command nodes have the same data
– Flexible and reconfigurable role definitions
– Same processes for the same function across the force

• Provide Integrated Defense Effectiveness

– Engagement range and effectiveness bounded by sensor and weapon
capabilities, not MC Stovepipes

• Reduce MC Footprint and Replace Obsolete

Architecture
– Eliminate unique functional nodes
– Eliminate stovepipe data processes
