Company Overview
MINING LAW
Mineral mining activities are governed under the Law on Mineral and Coal Mining No.4 / 2009 dated 12 January 2009 (“Mining Law”). This
Law replaces the predecessor Mining Law No. 11/1967, which provided the framework for all of Indonesia’s pre - 2009 mining concessions
The Mining Law provides for three categories of mining licence, depending upon the location and nature of the resource.
The categories are as follows:
1. Izin Usaha Pertambangan (“IUP” or Mining Business Licence);
2. Izin Usaha Pertambangan Khusus (“IUPK” or Special Mining Business Licence); and
3. Izin Pertambangan Rakyat (“IPR” or People’s Mining Licence).
Mining Business Licence ("IUP") is a general licence for conducting mining business activities in a WUP (Mining) area PT Bumi Karindo
(The Company ) obtained Mining Business Licence (IUP) for exploration since 2002 as follows:
- No. 545/Kep.46/KPLH/2002 covers an area of 30.5 hectares, under name of Mrs. Nanny Halimah Mulder.
And based on the lisence no. No.540/Kep.18/Distamben/2007, was changed to PT Bumi Karindo
- The lisences were changed and extended several time, the latest change was Lisence No. (IUP) No. 540/Kep. 392/Distamben/2012
which covering an area of 131 Hectares.
PT Bumi Karindo hold exploration permits (exploration IUP) covering of 131 Ha.
With an Exploration IUP, the Company is granted for performing general survey,exploration and feasibility studies within a mining area
(WUP).
In December 2012, The Company applied a Mining Business Licence (IUP) for Production Operations for performing construction,
mining, processing, refining, hauling and selling within the WUP area.
