We are delighted to announce UAE Children’s Innovation Fest 2021 in November 2021. We
have planned various interesting events as part of the UAE Children’s Innovation Fest 2021. We

Event 1 –National Children’s Science Congress

(28th National Children’s Science Congress 2021 -UAE level screening)

Description ‘National children's Science Congress’ is the flag ship program of the National
Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of
Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. NCSTC has entrusted Science
India Forum (SIF), UAE to conduct the Screening and selection of projects from
UAE for sending them to national level since 2013.

The Focal theme Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for a Clean, Green and Healthy Nation

- A team will have only Two Child Scientist.
- Each participating schools in UAE can send a maximum of 3 (Three)
teams/projects from each group.
- Junior Category: 10 years to less than 14 years, -Maximum 3 team
- Senior Category: 14 years to less than 17 years –Maximum 3 team
- Two Child Scientist can form the team and carry out the research
project with the help of school teachers, coordinators of school science
clubs, experts/ activists of science based voluntary organizations
research Institutes etc.
- All teams will present their project on November 13th 2021 through
Zoom.
- Judges will listen to all Project presentation and 2 best teams from
each category will be selected as winners. Presentation will be for 5
minutes followed by interaction with judges. Viva questions will be
asked to the teams.
- The best 2 teams in each category will be honoured
and 31st October 2021

Category • Junior Category: 10 years to less than 14 years, -
Maximum 4 entries per school. Each team can have a
maximum of 5 team members.

• Senior Category: 14 years to less than 17 years –

Maximum 4 entries per school. Each team can have a
maximum of 5 team members.

Theme Any scientific concept based skit

Format All Videos should be 5 minutes or less. Ensure that the
Audio-video quality is legible for evaluation.

Evaluation criteria The skits will be judged according to the following:

creativity and presentation (40%), originality (30%)
and relevance to the theme (30%).

Submission Upload your videos on your Youtube channel and send

us the link via email, with all details. (Name, category,
grade, school and emirates should be mentioned
along with the link)

Last date for submission of youtube links via email

Theme Topics for Seniors : Conserve biodiversity

Topics for Juniors : Eat for health
Format A3 size sheets to be used. All posters should have a
caption. Once the poster is complete, scan or take clear
photo and send us in jpg or pdf format. Digital posters
are not accepted
Evaluation criteria The posters will be judged according to the following
criteria: creativity and presentation(40%), originality
(30%) and relevance to the theme (30%).

 Event 4 - Scientific Case Study - ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Category • Junior Category: 10 years to less than 14 years, -
Maximum 3 entries per school. Each team to have 3
team members.

• Senior Category: 14 years to less than 17 years –

Maximum 3 entries per school. Each team to have 3
team members.
Theme •Seniors: Reducing Plastic Footprint using SDGs. Data
analysis of Usage of plastics with respect to the income
of different countries, Ocean plastics and impact of
micro plastics on earth.
•Juniors: Interplanetary Space exploration, Naming of
different space missions of our solar systems by the
space agencies , their purpose and it’s current status .
Format The case study findings and other details should be
prepared in a document format and emailed to us as pdf
file.
Use the following format (Synopsis/Executive Summary.
Outline the purpose of the case study, Findings. Identify
the problems found in the case by, Discussion.
Summarise the major problem/s.,Conclusion,
Recommendations, References, Appendices)
Evaluation criteria The case studies will be evaluated by panel of judges and
winners will be selected accordingly.

Category • Junior Category: 10 years to less than 14 years, -
Maximum 3 entries per school. Each team to have 3 team
members.

• Senior Category: 14 years to less than 17 years –

Theme We are looking for eye-catching images that show science
in action’, show how photography helps science or how
science impacts upon our daily lives..
Format Describe briefly the concept or phenomenon associated
with each image. Images must be the sole work of the
contestant.
Images must be captured using a digital camera – images
created in software are not permitted. Processing,
including cropping and adjustments to correct or enhance
exposure or colours, is acceptable; the addition, removal or
distortion of significant content is not permitted. Images
must not include a watermark or descriptive text.
Rename the photo with Category-Name-schoolinitial (ex:
Senior-Uday-DPS)
Evaluation criteria The photos will evaluated by panel of judges on basis of
creativity and technical aspects.

 Event 6 - Drawing & painting competition
(To commemorate the Year of the 50th in UAE and the 75th Year of Indian Independence)

Category, Format and • Age 5 to Less than 8 years category

Topic Indian/UAE friendship (Image for drawing will be provided by us which
can be downloaded from our Website sifuae.com after Oct 25th 2021-
use crayon or colour pencil)
• Age 8 years till Less than 12 years category
India –the rising world power (A4 size, use crayon, colour pencil sketch
pen or water colour)
• Age 12 years to less than 16 years category
UAE –Connecting minds, Creating future (A4 size, use crayon, colour
pencil sketch pen or water colour)
Event Details The event will be online. The entries should be submitted in the form of a short
video (Not exceeding 2 mins) which covers the child creating the art and the
final Image) and a jpeg image of final art.

The video along with the final image should be uploaded to your Facebook
page by tagging @SIFUAE and #cifdrawing2021. Please mention details like
Name, Grade, Category and School in the post.
Evaluation criteria The drawings will be evaluated by judges. 3 winners from each category will be
selected. Decision of the panel of Judges will be final and will not be subject to
any changes.
Apart from this one winner from each category will be selected based on the
most LIKES on social media post. Note that the viewers who like your post
should also like/follow SIFUAE FB page/Instagram page
Submission Registration open till November 22nd.

All entries should be uploaded on FB on or before Nov 24th 2021, 4 pm. Entries
submitted after the deadline will not be considered for the selection process
