Introduction
The Numocity Central Management System is an intelligent middle ware for electric mobility creating a smart and scalable energy delivery
ecosystem for EVs across the world. The advanced CMS enables User Management, Real time status of chargers, Fault and Error management,
Revenue and Tariff management, Asset management, Dashboard and Reports.
Some of the common tasks performed by an admin can be looked up in the manual with the below quick links

Admin Functionalities
Admin plays an important role in managing a charging network using CMS. The roles of an admin can be listed as
Additionally to the above some remote actions on a charger can be performed by an admin via CMS
The CMS user can provide access permissions to an admin and provide credentials for signing into the central management system. CMS also
handles this role based access setting different permissions

Asset Management
One of the main functionalities of an admin is to maintain assets in the central management system.
Assets maintained in CMS are Charge stations and charge points associated with the stations.

Charge Station
One of the major functionality of any administrator involves managing operations of charging stations and monitoring same.
To view details of a charging station and charge points available in the station select the name of charging station. Admin can also edit the
charging station details
Select charging station > edit > make changes > save
Admin can make changes to any field
Click on update to apply changes made

Charge Point
Charge Points are physical chargers set up at charging stations. There can be charge points with multiple connectors and models. Admin can
add a charge point for a charging station and make changes when needed.
Admin can add Tariff, Tax and surge to a particular charge point using the edit action in CMS
To apply tariff plans, tax, service fee or surge to a charge point select from the drop down list and apply changes. Users will be billed for Charging
transactions based on the tariff and tax plans applied. Refer Tariff Management to find out more on tax and tariff management via CMS.

Remote operations an admin can perform on charge points are mentioned below:
Hard Reset: Charger can be reset during an ongoing cgarging session or when idle.
Copyright (c) 2018-20 Numocity Technologies Private Limited., - All Rights Reserved
Soft reset: Charger can be reset and charging transactions will be ended and user notified
when admin performs a soft reset.
Unlock connectors: If the charger supports unlock of guns then admin can perform unlocking
connectors remotely in cases when user needs assistance or is not able to disconnect gun
from EV.
More of remote operations is covered in the below section Configuration in this document.
Configuration
Most of the configuration parameters are boolean which if set ‘true’ implies it is supported by the
charger and if ‘false’ are not present as a configuration but can be changed. For more detailed
information regarding configuration of a charger please refer Open Charge Point Protocol 1.6.
Core Profile
Local Auth List Management Profile
Reservation Profile
Admin can select these from the drop down list available in a charge point dashboard under
configuration and configure accordingly.
The success or failure of configurations made via CMS can be view live on the Console tab available
which helps admin know what are the responses from the charger and analyse accordingly.
The application of some configuration changes will happen only after the charger is rebooted.
Admin can perform some actions on a charger remotely using CMS. List of actions that can be
preformed and description is mentioned in this section.
1. Trigger Message:
This CP action is used to trigger messages to the charger remotely from the cms. Messages that can
be triggered are BootNotification, StatusNotification, HeartBeat, FrirmwareStatusNotification.
Select Trigger message from the drop down list in CP action tab in a charge point.
Select the type of message from the drop down list

If the charger has multiple connectors then admin has to identify the connector on which the
action can be performed
Select send
A success message is displayed on the CMS
Open console tab parallel to view messages exchanged during the trigger action.
2. Change Availability:
Admin can remotely change the availability of a charge point to two states Operative or Inoperative
3. Update Firmware:
CMS supports remote update of the charger’s firmware, the detail required to perform this action are
retrieve data, location (ftp server url), retries and retry interval can be given but are optional values.
The charge point vendor can also opt to perform the firmware update manually.
Admin can also remotely start or stop a charging session for a user when required. Below are the
steps to remotely start and stop a charging session in a charge point

idTag of a user can be obtained from user details, please refer Customer Relation Management for
more details on idTag.
Transaction ID of a charging session can be obtained from OCPP logs, please refer OCPP Logs and
Transactions section of this document for more details.
5. Send LocalList
Admin can send a local authorization list that a charge point can use for authorizing idTags. The list
may be either a full list to replace the current list in the Charge Point or it may be a differential list with
updates to be applied to the current list in the Charge Point. This list is locally created with different
versions by the admin in CMS, refer RFID Management to find out more on creating versions.

OCPP Logs and Transactions
Monitoring and maintaining logs of OCPP messages exchanged between charge points and central
management system is a vital part of the EV charging infrastructure. In CMS the information provided
to an admin in a charging transaction or in the form of message logs helps in business analytics
further.
OCPP Logs
Admin can view different ocpp messages which are exchanged based on user actions during
charging session. Click on See more to view the detail message payload. Admin can also select a
date range and filter the logs to refer using the time period selection available. When Auto Refresh
is set, logs are displayed based on the auto refresh interval selected. Different color codes help
differentiate source of OCPP messages exchanged between the components involved during a
charging session.
OCPP logs for a particular charge point can also be viewed by the admin by selecting a CP id from
the drop down list. Another place to view logs is in the respective charge point view itself, here are
the steps to follow
Charging Transactions
When users charge their EVs using charge points available in the charging network managed by the
CMS each of these charging sessions are logged with a unique id Charging Transaction ID and

which validates the rfid tag.
Central Management System can send a Local Authorization List that a Charge Point can use for
authorization of RFID Tags. A list of selected RFID tags to be authorized locally are stored as
different versions in CMS. Admin can perform a remote SendLocalList action for a charge point with
one of these versions and upon receiving the remote action the charge point updates the
authorization list.

min can filter alarms displayed based on category and severity for a selected time period. Some of the alarms categories are SOS, Billing,
charging, authentication. A unique alarm ID is generated for each alarm that is displayed on the dashboard. A ticket is created for critical and
major alarms for further action if needed.
Some of the charge point errors reported can be GroundFailure, ConnectorLockFailure, HighTemperature, OverVoltage and more. Charge point
errors are listed under the category Charging.
Tickets
When an end user raises a request for assistance on the mobile app, a ticket us generated for each type of assistance. The status of a newly
created ticket is ‘New’ which changes as and when an action is taken upon these tickets. Tickets can be filtered based on category. The support
team can view live ticket updates on the ticket dashboard and view details of a ticket.
