 Industrial property describe physical


matter that is the product of an idea or
concept for Commercial purpose.
 They are protected by are as follows:-
1. By Patents
2. By Trademarks
3. By Industrial design
4. By Trade secrets
5. By Geographical Indications
PATENTS

 A patent is monopoly exclusive rights


granted for an invention.
 Indian patent act 1970 defines patent -
"Patent" means "a new product or
process involving an inventive step and
capable of industrial application".
 Term of the patent is 20years from the
date of filling for all types of inventions.
 The patent owner may give permission
to, or license, other parties to use the
invention on mutually agreed terms.
 The owner may also sell the right to the
invention to someone else, who will then
become the new owner of the patent.
