 INTODUCTION

Company’s Profile

Polaris Inc. is an American company manufacturer of motorcycles,

snowmobiles, ATV, and electric vehicles. Polaris’s vision is to fuel the passion of
riders, workers and outdoors enthusiasts around the world by delivering innovative,
high-quality vehicles, products, services and experiences that enrich their lives.
Polaris was founded in Roseau, Minnesota, USA, where it still has engineering and
manufacturing. The company's corporate headquarters is in Medina, Minnesota.
Polaris was founded in 1954 by Edgar Hetteen, David Johnson, and Allen Hetteen.
Since the founding in 1954, Polaris have been making high-quality, breakthrough
products and broadening the view of powersports - whether it's launching the
snowmobile industry, reinventing ATV categories year after year, developing the first
purpose-built military vehicles, introducing a radical 3-wheel moto-roadster, or
getting people to explore the outdoors by providing a network of ride and drive
adventures. From entrepreneurial roots as a mechanical shop, Polaris have grown
into a global leader with more than 30 brands and multiple services responsible for
the company’s growth into a major influencer on powersports and beyond and in
recent years, Polaris have pushed the boundaries of the industry and expanded
beyond powersports into adjacent markets, like commercial and military vehicles,
and electric vehicles, where we can add value.

Product’s made in the video

In 1990s three wheels vehicles is one of exotic vehicles where its shape looks
like a race car. This vehicle using reverse trike design where this design only uses
two wheels in front and one at the back. This vehicle can accelerate from 0 – 100
km/h in just 4.1 seconds and can reach top speed of 230 km/h. This vehicle is made
for those who want to feel extremeness or want feel driving a race car.

The Operations – The steps on how to product is made.

In order to make this race car, first steps are it needs 34 steel tube
components just to form the shape of the car and it contain 68 different areas that
need to be weld. 4 hours is needed to weld all component together. Next, the worker
needs to assemble 50 parts to make a foot box where it contains clutch, brake and
gas pedals. It needs just three bolts to install the foot box.

Next, the worker code part of the brake pedal with liquid sealant so that
vibration will not loosen it. The workers also use two output horses and two plastic
reservoirs for brake fluid. Next, to withstand more aggressive use the company make
the brake pedal much thicker than the others since the vehicles can decelerate from
100 – 0 km/h in less than 29 metre.

After that, the workers install 4 cylinder 152 horse power 200cc motorcycles
engine. The worker needs to use electronic crane to place the engine on the
vehicles. Six bolts and six nuts are uses to attached the engine. To make the work
perfect without any error, visual reference method is use where the workers made a
board with a label of component and assemble all the component on the board.

After the worker settle with the foot box and engine, the worker installed
cylinder cold gas shocked server for the suspension system. To install the
suspension system, the workers need to attach the suspension system to the brake
system which is zinc plated rotor and aluminium calliper. In order to vent the exhaust
fume to the engine the worker installed four to one exhaust manifold. They also
install the electric fans and radiator.

Next, to make it look like a race car the worker will install removable driving
wheel where the driving wheel is lock in a place by using spring loaded latch system.
As for the instrument cluster which are vehicles speed, mileage, fuel, signal, hazard,
high and low beam light, also start and kill engine will be install on the collapsible
steering column by the worker.

 As for the rear wheel the workers will install it on the other part of suspension
call swing arm. It only using one bolt that is half metre long and two smaller bolts to
attach the rear wheel with the swing arm. To make the wheels turn, the worker will
install a chain on the rear wheel assembly. To prevent dust from damaging the
chain, rubber O-rings is use on each link.

For the last part of making this three-wheel vehicle, the worker attached 19
mould fiberglass body part where the company offer six standards colours and
several custom colours. When the body part is assembles, the vehicle is nearly three
and half metre long, almost two metres wide and several metre high. As a result,
beautiful three-wheel vehicles are made.

Materials used for the production of the product.

For the production of this products, which is Three wheels vehicles. The
material involves in making this product are steel tube which is the part that use to
shape the body. Bolts and nuts are an essential material since it is use to connect
part to the body. Foot box is used to move or to stop the car where it contains break,
clutch, and gas pedal. In order to get a powerful speed, 4 cylinder 152 horse power
200cc motorcycles engine is use. As for the suspension, the company use cylinder
cold gas shocked server. Four to one exhaust manifold is use to prevent the exhaust
fume to the engine. They also use electric fans and radiator to cool the engine. The
company use removable driving wheel and 3 wheels. The company use chain to turn
the wheels. In order to make it look elegant 19 fiberglass body part will be attached.

Machines involved for the production of the product.

In order to produce the product which is three-wheel vehicles, the machines

involve is tig welder. This machine is use to weld steel tube in order to form the
shape of the vehicles. Next, electronic crane this machine is use to place the engine
on the vehicles. Lastly is bolt tightening machine, this machine is use to connect and
tighten the bolts and nuts into the body.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion is the process to build a three wheels vehicle is quite easy
compare to normal vehicles since it is same as motorcycles but has three wheels
and it save a lot of time to build it. The process to place the engine into the body is
quite challenging but not too complicated. Based on the video what I have learn is in
order to make a job easier we must plan, organize, and well prepare before do the
job. Since, our country is growing same level as other country and might be better
than some country. So, our national automobile brand which is PROTON can learn
to produce this type of product which is three-wheel vehicles and add a value into
the product so that we can attract more tourist to visit our country.
