(Hexa/Tetra) Mesh generation for solid automotive components.
 Assembly level Element Quality check for Jacobian, Warpage, skew angle, & aspect ratio for meshed components in accordance
with the client specifications.
 Updating components material and properties for various sections in the assembly and assembly level connectivity of
meshed components using appropriate 1-d, 2-d & 3-d elements.
 Full vehicle integration of multiple sub includes for creating master deck.

The focus here was to identify the strength and perform the comparison between Maximal59 and ADC material for suitability to specific project.
The dumbbell tensile specimen was prepared for testing tensile strength according to ASTM Standards (E8/B557M).
The results were correlated both on component and system level to validate for suitability of material.

Project 15: Non-linear Quasi-Static structural analysis of Commercial vehicle Steering wheel(Volvo Eicher)
Description:
The input was in IGES format.
Generating complete fem of steering wheel and creating rigid wall.
Assigning the material (true stress strain curve) and preparation of deck by defining required load steps, control cards.
Running structural analysis to obtain displacement, maximum plastic strain for the specified load.
Debugging Contact and convergence issues appeared during run.
Correlation of CAE results obtained with practical testing results to perform validation of model.

Structural Analysis has been carried out to find von-Mises stress and elastic plastic strain of the structure.
Tools used: Radioss, HyperMesh v17.0 and Hyperview Role: Creating mesh, quality checking, assigning property, applying BC & perform strength analysis.

Modal analysis has been carried out to find out the mode shapes at different frequencies and to find RF.
Tool used: HyperMesh v17.0, Optistruct and HyperviewRole: Creating fem, assigning property and material, defining BC, load steps & perform analysis.

The input was in IGES format.
Geometric clean-up was done in HyperMesh.
Generating complete fem of steering wheel using solid (Hexa, tetra) and shell mesh.

Project 22: Finite Element Solid (Hexa) Modeling & Modal Analysis of Crankshaft, Connecting Rod, Drive Shaft
Description:

Focus was to capture features like Pockets, Keyways, and Steps and maintain good mesh flow.
Solid Meshing using Hexa and Penta Element.
3D Quality checks to meshed component are conducted as per client specifications.
