You are required to brainstorm in groups and finalize the following for the research project to be carried
out:

1-The working title for the project report based on your research topic:

 A ‘Broken Promise’ or a ‘Naya Pakistan’ in the Making: Imran Khan’s

Tenure as Prime Minister(2018-Present)

2-The research question:

Q-How does general satisfaction of the public vis-a-vi the current governments performance/ competence
vary across certain demographics?

3-The research objectives

 To determine where support for the government lies, with regard to

1- income distribution,
2-educational background,
3-ethnical affiliations,
4-geographical distribution,
5-religious views,
6- age

 To determine whether the public (from aforementioned demographics) believes this government
can bring about positive change, and whether it has the ability to improve the economic and
political dynamics of Pakistan

 To understand and analyse how and why does public opinion towards our questions differs along
different demographics.

4-The research location

 Pakistan
5-Study Participants:
General population (people representing different demographics) i.e.

1- income distribution,
2-educational background,
3-ethnical affiliations,
4-geographical distribution,
5-religious views,
6- age
Participants will be chosen from each demographic. Participants will be selected on the basis of
the extent to which they represent said demographics.

6-The sampling technique selected and why?

 Stratified sampling

We use this method because we expect varied answers across different demographics(subgroups).
Thus, we use this method as Stratified sampling improves the accuracy and representativeness of
the results by reducing sampling bias.

Purposive sampling will be used to aid our selected sampling technique, and also help us carefully
select individuals who truly represent their demographics.
