Course This course is conceptualized to help students understand basic cognitive processes as

concepts such as perception, memory, attention, intelligence, language and thought in
the various manifestations of the study of mind and behaviour.

It introduces the basic framework on how psychologists scientifically study and


understand the cognitive processes through various quantitative and qualitative methods
of inquiry. The course also takes through the various applications on how the human
mind works in different situations and in our everyday life such as the applications of
human memory in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern machines. Students
will have the opportunity to examine these concepts from multiple psychological
perspectives and to reflect upon the applicability of these concepts.

Course Objectives This course will help the learner learn about

● To develop an understanding of the influence of behaviour, cognition, and states
of consciousness and behaviour.
● To appreciate the use of various models, theories and methods in understanding
cognitive processes.

the influence of behaviour, cognition, and the environment affects behaviour.

Skill Compare and contrast various models, theories and methods in understanding

Description

Students will be required to administer a psychometric test (mentioned in the syllabus) of


their choice on the minimum sample of 10. The test has to be administered on a subject of
any age and gender. A detailed report which includes introduction, ROL, Method, result
and interpretation will have to be created and submitted after the administration of test.
