Prep – 2, Curriculum Calendar for the Month of October - 2020

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Chrysalis Foundational Years Programme (FYP) I
We are building the foundational literacies in English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. We support children in their natural desire to learn
about themselves and their world. At the end of FYP, children will have the skills and competencies to progress into Primary. Based on extensive
research and analysis, the programme focuses on:

 Language Art (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Viewing and Visual Representation)
 Mathematics (Experimental Learning)

The Language Art module covers distinct Learning Experiences outcomes clearly mapped out for each Grade of the FYP. It includes :

Reading Programme
Phonics Programme
Environmental Studies

Chrysalis FYP aims at the holistic development of the child across these four domains of development.

Puppet Story
The Goose with the Golden Eggs
Once upon a time, a man and his wife had the good fortune
to have a goose which laid a golden egg every day. Lucky though
they were, they soon began to think they were not getting rich fast
enough. They imagined that if the bird is able to lay golden eggs, its
insides must be made of gold. And they thought that if they could get
all that precious metal at once, they would get mighty rich very soon.
So the man and his wife decided to kill the bird. However, upon cutting
the goose open, they were shocked to find that its innards were like
that of any other goose!
