• Appropriate procedure for donning and doffing of PPE
What is Personal Protective
Equipment ?
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT (PPE)
O equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and
Illnesses. These injuries and illnesses may result from contact with chemical, radiological,
physical, electrical, mechanical, or other workplace hazards.

Types of PPE used in Healthcare settings :


• gloves
• safety glasses andshoes
• earplugs or muffs
• hard hats,
• Respirators
• Coveralls
• Vests
• full bodysuits
Importance of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE)
PPE is important because…

 prepares you for any health and safety risks


 gives you extra protection event of an
accident
 prevent injuries, illnesses, and deaths
