Friday, 01.05.2015
Buffet breakfast at your booked Hotel.
10:00am meeting point at Mirabell place with your licensed city guide for a 2 h walking
sightseeing tour
Time at leisure.
12:15 doors open, duration 2 hrs.
01:00pm Messiah Rehearsal
Choir and Piano. Conducted by and Jan S. Bechtold.
07:00pm International Festival – Choir Concert
The participating choirs present themselves here one after the other. 10 minutes per choir.
Compulsory Final Piece: G.F. Handel: “Lift up your heads” from “Messiah”
08:30pm Singers Club
Singers meet for a relaxed evening together.
Overnight at your booked accommodation.

Saturday, 02.05.2015
Buffet breakfast at your booked Hotel.
9:30am doors open duration approx. 3 hrs.
10:00am Messiah General Rehearsal.
Choir, Soloists and Orchestra. Conducted by Jan S. Bechtold.
06:00pm doors open;
07:00pm „Messiah“ Concert
With hundreds of singers from around the world, soloists and „Members of the University
Orchestra Salzburg“.
Conductors: Jan S. Bechtold.
10:15pm Messiah – Choir-Festival – Party – light dinner is incl.
Get – Together for all Participants.
Overnight at your booked accommodation.

Sunday, 03.05.2015
Buffet breakfast at your booked Hotel.
Good bye until the 6th Messiah-Festival 2016.

Information for singers
Choir and individual singers are both invited. Singers should have sung „Messiah“ before.
Please bring vocal scores of Handel’s „Messiah“ in English with you. Every English edition can
be used, instructions however refer to the Bärenreiter edition.
Dress Code: Ladies in black with a „friendly–coloured“ accessories. Gentlemen wear a dinner
jacket, white shirt and a coloured tie.

The following choral pieces will be sung in the order of Leonard Bernstein’s version (1956):
