3. The connecting terminal varies with the different models of lightning protection
boxes. Refer to the installation diagrams that go with the lightning protection box for
details.
29
LTE_FDD_eNB_C_06 Station Installation Guide

4. Try to install the antenna and the RRU on the same pole. If the antenna is connected
with the RRU with the antenna jumper, it needs not to install the grounding clip. If the
antenna is connected with the RRU with the feeder:

1) Ground the feeder that is shorter than 5 m at one point.

2) Ground the feeder that is longer than 5 m and shorter than 20 m at two points

3) Ground the feeder that is longer than 20 m at the following three points:
––a point on the iron tower platform
––a point between the iron tower and the outdoor cabling rack
––a point within 1 m away from the indoor area

4) Ground the feeder (on the iron tower) that is longer than 60 m at points on every 20
m.

When the antenna is installed on the pole at the top of the building and the feeder is
longer than 20 m, ground the feeder at the point where the feeder departs from the
antenna pole, at the point where the feeder departs from the platform on top of the
building, and at the point where the feeder enters the equipment room. If the distance
between two adjacent grounding points is longer than or equal to 60 m, one grounding
point should be added in the middle between them.

9 The bending radius of the cable conforms to related standard.
10 The cable joints are tight. No DIN and N types of connectors are connected in a staggered way.
The white straps are used indoors and cut flat at the end part. The black straps are used outdoors
11
and cut flat at the end part but with 3~5mm surplus length (for use in hot weather).
The cables are with labels in correct format and facing the same direction (or as required by the
12
customer if the document stating such requirements is available).

B.4 Outdoor Installation Check

A standalone hold pole must be equipped with the lightning arrestor. The antenna and GPS
1 antenna must be placed within the 45° protection area of the lightning arrestor. Reliable
grounding must be made.
The bracket of the GPS antenna is installed firmly. There is no obstacle within the 120° vertical
2
field angle of the antenna.
The cable joints and ground clip are wrapped to ensure water-proof performance. That is, they
are wrapped with one layer of insulation adhesive tape first, next three layers of water-proof
3
plaster and finally three layers of insulation tape. After the wrapping, two ends of the tape tight
with the UV-screening strap.
A backwater trap is made before the cable runs into the equipment room. The lowest point of
4 the trap is 10 cm ~20 cm below the lower edge of the cable access hole on the feeder window.
The feeder window is sealed with the fire resistant material.
The azimuth error of directional antenna is no more than ±5°. The pitch angle error of the
5 directional antenna is no more than ±5°. The antenna is connected correctly, the sector relations
are correct. No reverse and wrong connections.
