SOCIO-CULTURAL The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) would initiate road widening
AND works in the One Town area. The master plan, prepared by VUDA, will widen the road to 100
SOCIO-POLITICAL feet to ease traffic from Jagadamba Junction to the Victoria statue.

The rest of the men are occupied with fishIng and with small rental shops adjacent to the
roads.
The women are mostly occupied with household works , some women sell the fishes in the
harbour .
The other women take care of shops which are below their residential houses.
The others sell vegetables in between streets.
In the evenings the women gather in between the streets, which are very narrow.
The children mostly spend time in their school and in between the streets and also the parks
nearby.

INFERENCES
The social-economic activities are:
Trading - Local shops in the main street , food stalls , street vendors , merchants,
the buildings in main street have comercial in the ground floor and residential above
while some are completely residential.
There are some godowns and sheds for mechanical works, trash and cement
godowns etc.
Cultural and lifestyle: There are around 4 temples and a church inthe wedge.
During festivals like shivaratri , dusara and ganesh chaturthi ,the people celebrate by
gathering in between the small streets ,the streets are more crowded during the
festivals in the evening time, where the streets are decorated with lightings.
These residential settlements are improper and closely packed with very narrow
streets where the vehicles are parked on the road side

● Kanchara veedhi is most crowded street in this total wedge where most of the cultural activities
takes place during festivals in the month of november and december near SREE KANAKA
MAHALAKSHMI TEMPLE and also in daily bases.
