Course This transfer-level course is designed to help develop and expand fundamentals of English language &
Descriptio academic writing skills. It is intended to improve students’ ability to plan, write, and revise essays, read
n critically, document sources accurately while finding and interpreting relevant information, apply peer and
instructor feedback to the revision process.
This course is designed to generate graduates not only with a sound grounding in CS & IT fundamentals but
also multi-disciplinary breadth that includes knowledge of English grammar and enhancing four language
skills. It is specially designed to improve their critical thinking, so that the students can make an immediate
impact in their relevant field, either in the academic research or CS & IT industry domains. Ultimately the
course aims to generate the future leaders or superheroes of the national and international level in CS & IT
industry and computing field.
It includes the following major topics;
Parts of speech, sentence and its types, tenses, active and passive voice, strategies to improve four language skills
(Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking), grammar, syntax, and mechanics -- spelling, punctuation,
vocabulary paragraph writing and essay writing (to help proposal writing, Computing Templates & analyze
published ideas, and to conduct research and write a research paper, in the upcoming modules).
Students will also be enabled to have revision and editing, reading comprehension questions, and other writing
activities.

Argue a researched perspective on issues of professional, personal
and/or social significance by gathering, evaluating, and synthesizing
sources in a correctly documented paper.
