represent in sources 2 and 3? Are
there any shapes or patterns that
are similar in both maps?
2. To what extent would each style
of map used in sources 2 and 3 be
helpful in understanding a map of
the nation? A local map?
3. Compare sources 2 and 3 to
the Pre-AP World History and
Geography world regions map. What
boundaries or patterns in sources 2
and 3 may have informed some of
the boundaries between regions?
4. Create a statement of comparison
using the information provided
in the maps. Use a word such
as although, while, or but to
convey both similarities and
differences.

Pre-AP World History
and Geography
In source 2 the colors represent the different types of climate around the
world. In source 3 it shows how the land looks. The areas that look
more green on source 3 look like they are either Equatorial, Highlands,
or Temperate while the less green parts on source 3 look like they are
either Arid, cold or polar.
They would be able to help you tell which regions have a colder or
warmer and in what parts. With these maps they'll be able to tell
Source 2 is the only one with boundaries outlined of the countries and
places while sources 2 and 3 don't have them outlined but source 2 has
the different places of climate outlined and source 3 just shows what the
world looks like and you can tell which areas have the most vegetation.
They are all different and contain different
information. But the convey a few similarities. For
Example, they are all showing the earth and all of the
information fits with each other. Source 2 is the only
one with different colors representing the type of
climate.
They are all connected since they all contain different
formation about the world.
They relate to the starter claim because they contain the different
information of the areas and they help to show a person what an area
of land looks like.
