Choice in day 12 and 13, it drops to under 80 visitors in the last day.
Task 2 Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures
and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Many people agrue that music serves as a type of bridge that bond people irrespective of
culture and generation gap. From my perspective, I completely agree with this point of
view.
In the first place, music has a special ability to evoke a wide range of listener’ feelings no
matter where they come from. Despite of the incomprehension of song lyrics due to the
language barrier, people can still be fascinated by the music melody. In fact, melody is
linguistically neutral, therefore, people can feel the song melody without trying to
understand the language that written in the song. For instance, the song named
“Despacito” which is wrote in Spainish had become a massive hit in the whole world in
2017 through its catchy melody. Another obvious evidence is that the widespread of K-
pop in the world although their song lyrics are in Korean.
Just as it transcends in cultures, music can also connect and bring people together
ragardless of age. It is noticeable in these days that youngsters are enthusisatic about
nostalgic vibe of songs that released years ago, otherwise, modern music genres such as
hip-hop, rap are becoming the older people’s taste of music. This would explain why in
some extended family, every member in different generations can reunite and sing
together the same song with lots of enjoyful and united.
To sum up, for the two main reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that
music is truly the universal language that transcends all age and cultural boundaries.
