19 Dishes make case for Pampanga as culinary capital of the

Philippines

Our country, the Philippines never fails to amaze me. We have many hidden
wealth – beautiful islands, destinations to go to that can only be found in the Philippines
and most importantly we have a variety of foods that you can only taste in our country.
Pampanga is called the culinary capital of the Philippines because most of the best
Filipino cuisines are from here. In that case, most of the cooks are from here.
“Culture is best served on a platter”, this phrase is said by chef Sau Del Rosario
and I agree with this because the delicacies that the Filipino’s make are distinctive, it
describe or show our culture and comprises our traditions. During the Kapampangan
Festival 2017, culinary Pampanga’s illustrious members showcased a menu of diverse
influences and recipes, these are Des Tanglao Castro, Claude Taya, Chris Locher,
Froiland Cruz, Josephine Mendoza, Bong Sagmit and Ramon Tang Jr., Sau del
Rosario, and 12 more tasty delicacies. The delicacies that they presented are made
from our products and harvest. Thus, Filipino foods are indeed unique, tasty, and one of
a kind. Especially our foods describe who we are since it is connected to our culture. I
am proud that I am a Filipino.
