16. A man’s weekly salary is N6000. If he gets a 10% pay rise, how much is his new monthly
salary?

17. A spring, which was 35𝑐𝑚 long, is stretched so that its length is increased by 16%. Calculate
its new length.

18. A trader reduces all her prices by 5%. What would be the price of a pair of trousers originally
marked at N2100?

19. The fuel tank of a lorry holds 80 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑠 when it is 40% full. How much does the tank hold
when it is full?

20. Of 80 drivers stopped by police, 20% did not have licences, 30% had defective lights and 5%

22. An aeroplane leaves Accra at 4:30pm and arrives in London at 2:30am the next day. What is
