Background Instructional Materials for Students supports the creation and substantial revision of
and Rationale comprehensive curricula and supplemental instructional materials that are research-based;
enhance classroom instruction, preK-12; and reflect standards for science education
developed by national professional organizations.

Magallanes National Vocational High School is one of the twelve schools

included in the Batch 3 of Continuous Improvement Program in the Division of Sorsogon.
Along with other CI Teams, primary goal of the program is to help improve specific field that
accumulated consistent decline in performance level. The first project of the program dealt
under the teaching-learning process in Science. Using the result of National Achievement
Test (NAT) of 2012-2015 and Item Analysis of First Quarter Examination for all the subjects
of Junior and Senior High School of MNVHS, it pointed out that Science of Grade 10 –
Ampere got the lowest MPL and Item Analysis. Therefore, as the data suggests the Science
subject teacher of Grade 10 – Ampere has been identified as the process owner.

After 10 months of working out the project, the team was able to join the Division
Symposium and the Regional Symposium to which the project was presented before an
audience. The team is now ready to implement the project SPEEL to Science starting this SY
2029 – 2020.

One of our next steps include ORIENTATION/WORKSHOP to Teachers

preparation of Instructional Materials (IM’s) in their area of specialization. Because we
believe that expound and enhance Instructional Materials (IM’s) will develop high-quality of
learners, enhance knowledge, thinking skills and different abilities.

Hence, the team would like to seek approval for the said conduct of
ORIENTATION/WORKSHOP FOR SCIENCE TEACHERS on August 7, 2019. Attached
are the Program Matrix.

Objectives
1. To enhance teacher’s content of knowledge in preparing Instructional Materials (IM’s).

2. To develop high-quality, research based instructional for students that enhance knowledge,
thinking skills and learner’s ability in problem solving.

3. To monitor the progress of the learners by applying different Instructional Materials

(IM’s).
