1.2 NOTE CONDITION CHECK

This chapter shows only the parameters of note condition checks, which are defined individually for the currency
specified in this document. The other parameters and checks, which are common in all currencies, are defined in the
document, “HITACHI CASH MODULE Product Specifications Model: HT-3842-XXX”.

(1) Parameters for Dimension Check

The width and length of the note are measured and compared to the nominal ones defined in table 1.2. And when
each of them excesses the tolerances, the note is rejected. The tolerances are from + 3mm to –5mm for width
(long edge) and from + 2mm to –3mm for length (short edge).

(WIDTH) +- 53 mm

(LENGTH) +- 32 mm

Fig. 1.41 Dimension check

(2) Parameters for Fitness Check

(a) Soiled level

Brightness of the note is measured and when it is lower than a certain level, the note is judged to be soiled.
Table 1.3 shows the levels, which are defined for each denomination.
In the table, brightness is defined as 100 when note is pure white and 0 when black.

3. PARAMETERS FOR HARDWARE ADJUSTMENT
AND SOFTWARE PARAMETER SETTINGS

In order that HCM handles the currency supported by this validation software, hardware adjustments and software
parameter settings must be performed.
About the hardware adjustment, internal guides of Cash Recycling Box and width of Cash Slot must be adjusted
to the positions defined in table 3.1.
The detailed way of these adjustments are defined in chapter 4 and 5 of the document, “Hardware Setting
Manual ”.
About the software parameter settings, Country/Regional Code and Denomination Code need to be specified as
shown in table 3.1. The detailed explanations about the parameters are defined in the document, “Denomination
