AGE GROUP

 The respondents in the survey are mostly from the age 21 to 50 years which accounts for
almost 70% this can be helpful as these two age group people travel most
 The respondents from age group between 11 to 15 very less and in my opinion, this is not
going to effect quality of analysis because this age group of people don’t have driving
license and most of them might not drive any kind vehicle expect bicycle so they might
not have the firsthand experience of traffic situations on roads
 The respondents from the age group of 31-40 are at low side so this might affect analysis
report as the weightage of these age group people will be less

MYSORE AND NON-MYSORE

MYSORE NON-MYSORE

72% 28%

The respondent includes 72% of Mysore people and 28% non-Mysore people
As the people from Mysore have more representation in the survey this will help in getting
better information as people staying in Mysore will have better idea about the traffic situation
in both during festival and non-festival times

years of stay in Mysore

 The survey consists of 62% respondents living the Mysore from 4 to 9 years a this will
help us know about if the Mysore traffic problems has improved and worsen over the
years.
 Around 20% of respondents are one who are living in the Mysore for 10 to 12 years this
will give us access to the information regarding developments done by Mysore traffic
authorities and increase in the level of Traffic

From the table we can infer that the people who are non-Missourian thinks that on
average there around 5 accidents during Dussehra the skewness is 0.49 which means
that the data is almost symmetric and

The boxplot shows that the 50% of data points lie between 3 to 7 and outliers here are
11 and 16 and we can conclude that the people who from not Mysore on average thinks
there are 4 to 5 accidents during Dussehra

144 4.74 2.85 2.41 4 4.39 1.48 0 17 17 1.41

There are 144 respondents who are from Mysore

The mean is 4.74 and SD is 2.85 so the data is some what scattered
The data is positively skewed which states that the are more respondents who are on the
left side of the mean, and we got the mean near to 4.74 because of the presence outliers

As you can see in the above box plot the 50% of the data lies between 3-5 and the
outliers are between 9 to 16

To conclude we can say that the on average there are 3-6 accidents during Dussehra

More than 50% of respondent who visited place b disagree with parking facilities being
adequate

From the boxplot we can infer that the 50% of the respondents who strongly agree with
the fact that main roads should be made one way thinks that there on average 3-7

We can say that though making roads one way don’t have high impact accidents during
the festival season we can say there some attention needed towards this aspect

 To know how many tourists visit Mysore-During both the times

There are more tourists who vests Mysore during Dussehra than during normal times
To find the factors responsible for traffic jams and accidents
From the above summary stats and other descriptive analysis, the factors which are
responsible for traffic jams are
 Lack of adequate parking place its moderate effect on traffic jams
 Lack of government parking spaces provided by government
 Lack of common parking place
 Lack of sufficient place to accommodate all the visitors of the program

11
 Lack of efficient traffic diversion

To specifically know and report the opinion of auto drivers, bus drives and other heavy
vehicle drivers on the problems they face on
 Most of the drivers park their vehicle in empty place
 Most of the drivers think that the traffic is diverted/Managed properly by the police
 Most of the drivers think that the parking facilities near the palace grounds are not

places of visit and other traffic measures being taken by the police
 parking arrangements at the program venue can be improved
 traffic diversion and management by the police can be improved
 traffic authorities should not allow the traffic to pass through the venue, to avoid
problems

 Distance travelled by individual have a positive effect on average no of accidents

 The people who travel by bus have positive relation with average no of accidents
 Place b and d have positive effect on average no of accidents this might be because
they are main roads or might be having narrow roads or poor traffic regulation or it
might the the program venue
 The people who think that parking facility is not sufficient also think that there are
more no of average accidents during festival. People might be parking their vehicle
on the side of road
 The visit to the dusheera function and the visit to yuva dushera function have
positive relation with average no of accidents during accidents this implies that there
are more accidents during the Dussehra festival
 With increase in outsider visit the avg no accidents increase which implies that the
outsider visiting the city is also on of the major problem

18
Who are the stakeholders for the given situation and what value you can add for them
through the analysis?
The traffic authorities, people of the Mysore, shop owners are the stakeholders
By analyzing the data, we can give suggestion to the traffic authorities regarding the
problems faced by Mysore people and what the other things that cause traffic jams and
accidents
This will help traffic authorities to manage the traffic well in future and properly
organize and manage their human resource and other resource effectively
For example, in this analysis we found that traffic diversion and lack of government
parking facility is one of the issues. Also, they can guide and spread awrness about the
traffic measures that should be taken by the people of Mysore to have less accidents and
less traffic jams

CONCULSION:

From the analysis conducted we can conclude that there are few measures which can be
taken to manage the traffic like providing adequate parking place, providing
government parking places, common parking places and selecting appropriate place to
accommodate all the visitors and diverting the traffic efficiently
Conjoint analysis model is created, and this model can be used to build profiles and
cand sent it as questioner too mysore people and take measures which will make the
authorities control traffic better
