Example: STARS
Stars may be compared to lanterns hung from afar; they are both “fixed” and give points of light that
can be seen from afar but do not move.
Example: SUN
The sun can be compared to an atom‟s nucleus, or to a variety of central landmars, such as the
Quezon Memorial Circle Shrine – this has the advantage of also being in the center of an h„orbiting‟
elliptical path.
Example: MOTION OF TIDES
The motion of tides can be compared to the back-and-forth of a yo-yo which happens because of a

 Comfort zone is a harbour, where ships are safest as they are not exposed to the open sea and it‟s possible
1 dangers. However, the saying goes that staying in harbour is not what ships are made for, just as we are not
made for stagnating in our comfort zones.

When you write, you think about your audience as to how they would understand
each word or term you would include, how they can relate unto you and to those words,
how they can be brought to the same level or place where you are in. That’s how you
think of the time to use expanded definition – another way to connect well with the
audience or readers, a way to make yourself be understood, a way to fill the void from
the bewildered audience, a way to intervene and heal their wounded minds stricken by
your sharpest words.
