3. Enumerate the four (4) consumer product and cite three (3) example for each consumer product:
a. Convenience Products -They are usually purchased with least amount of effort and by that it’s
convenient to the consumer or buyer (Ex. Soft drinks and snack food, Toothpaste, soap, and shampoo).
These can be divided into three subcategories: Staple, Impulse, and Emergency items.
b. Shopping Products- They are usually purchased after the buyer compares various product and brands.
These products are usually of a higher value than convenience product. Price, Quality, Style, and Color
typically factors in buying decisions. (Ex. TV, Computers, Bedding).
c. Specialty Products- They are usually seek out because of their unique characteristics or brand
identification. (Ex. Wedding dresses, antiques, designer’s clothes).
d. Unsought Products- They are products usually the consumers are not aware of or have a little interest
in actively pursuing. Heavy promotion is required in distributing the product. (Pre- planned funeral
services, Life-insurance).
