Important Notice to our Customers

Product Change Notice 190610B Date: June 10, 2019

Re: EOS for DV-l Prime, DV-ll Pro and DV-lll Ultra viscometers

To Our Valued Customers:


We appreciate your use of the DV-l Prime, DV-ll Pro and DV-lll Ultra viscometers. The purpose of this
notice is to inform you that the DV-l Prime, DV-ll Pro and DV-lll Ultra will no longer be serviced for repair
as of May 31, 2020.

PCN Type:
Notice of end of product service (EOS) informing customers that repair services for existing DV-l Prime,
DV-ll Pro and DV-lll Ultra viscometers will no longer be offered after May 31, 2020.

Product(s) Affected:
DV-l Prime, DV-ll Pro and DV-lll Ultra viscometers

Customer Impact:
Customers may still send in products for repair services before May 31, 2020 – after this date customers
will no longer to obtain repair services for this product. Please note that AMETEK Brookfield will
continue to offer calibration for these products.

Please contact AMETEK Brookfield for recommendations on alternate products. Also, visit the AMETEK

Obsolescence Policy
AMETEK Brookfield is committed to providing leading edge instruments to our customers and invests
considerable time and resources to provide a range of quality and highly functional instruments. While
AMETEK Brookfield cannot guarantee continued availability of all the components used in our
instruments, we endeavor to provide pro-active product lifecycle management and to best ensure
compatible migration paths to second source and other replacement components in the event of the
obsolescence of parts.

Product Life Cycle Milestones

Below is a list of terms and definitions related to end of life stages. Notifications will be issued for any
instrument entering either EOM, EOS, or EOL.

Our goal is to support all discontinued instrument model families for a minimum period of 5 years from
the end of manufacturing (EOM) to the end of life (EOL). In the case of currently produced legacy model
families, instruments that are more than 10, but less than 15 years old have varying levels of end of
service (EOS) for the purposes of repair or calibration. This is because instruments of this age tend to be
materially different than their recently produced counterparts and repair or calibration services is

dependent upon parts availability. Please contact AMETEK Brookfield for additional information on the
repair and calibration for products in this age range. Instruments from legacy model families >15 years
old are considered EOL and repair and calibration services are no longer available.
