Membrane Finisher

Membrane Contactor
Why a Finisher?

• Add-on to any existing Unit

• DO values down to ca. 1 ppb
• Existing technology intact
• Energy optimization
Membrane Contactors

• Features • Benefits
– Small size - 10x the surface area – Compact Skids
of conventional degasifiers – Low installation costs
– Modular construction – Easy Expansion
– Total gas control – O2 CO2 and N2 control
– Cleanliness – Easily rinsed
– Low pressure drop – Reduced pump requirement
– Accurate performance modeling – Quick sizing, guaranteed DO
– No chemicals required for values
operation – Low operating costs,
environmentally friendly
Extra-Flow Membrane Contactor

• Patented Design
• FDA Compliant
(With Appropriate O-Rings)
Principles of Gas Transfer

• Gasses in the atmosphere dissolve χ O2

into water until equilibrium is
reached
• Equilibrium between the liquid and
gas phase is offset when a vacuum

LIQUID
and/or source of strip gas is applied
• This creates a driving force to yO2
move gasses from the liquid phase
into the gas phase

Operating Modes
By changing the partial pressure of the gas we can either remove from
or dissolve gas into water.
 Lower the partial pressure, the gas will be removed from the water
 Increase the partial pressure, the gas will dissolve into the water
