Excavation
and shoring

report

• Construction process:
1. Site Preparation:
The first step was constructing the wooden box in
preparation for the excavation. The model is made
from two boxes; the first being 50 cm * 50 cm *20 cm
that serves as the site, and the second box is 40 cm * 40
cm * 15 cm serving as the room. Then the preparation
of the site began by filling it with sand

2. Excavating:
After constructing the model and having the site
ready, the excavating process begins.
3. Excavation Support:
The excavation support type that I used while
constructing the model was the wall pile shoring. A
shoring structure is built to prevent soil movement and
cave-ins during construction and excavation, and is
temporary in nature, but can be left as a part of the
permanent structure.

• Conclusion:
The site is prepared, excavated, and supported in
preparation for the footing and ready for next week's
continuation which will include 1) footing2) footing neck,
3) waterproofing, and all concrete elements will be
reinforced.
