Topic : WHEN IS YOUR BIRTHDAY?
Learning Standard(s) : 2.1.2 (d)-Able to recognize and articulate initial, medial and
the final sounds in single syllable words within given
contexts.
Objectives: 2.1.4 (a)-Able to segment words into phonemes to spell.
Teaching Aids : textbook & picture cards
Educational Emphasis : Thinking skill, creativity & Multiple Intelligent.
Teaching & Learning Strategies : Pupils are able to listen & read the word correctly.
Activities: 1) Pupil play the “Birthday Line” game. Ask the pupils what their birthday
months are. The pupils line up according to their birthday months.
2) Teacher tell the pupils about the use of capital letters for the months of
the year.
3) Enrichment: Pupils have to write in a creative way their birthday month
in a manila card.

Teaching Aids : textbook & picture cards

Teaching & Learning Strategies : Pupils are able to listen & sing the song correctly.
Activities: 1) Teacher show picture cards of different month. Draw pupils attention
to the words, Spell it and sing with action.
2) Teacher talk about the month in the picture. Sing to the tune of
“Months of a year” & ask questions about months.
3) Enrichment: Pupils have to write in a creative way their birthday month
in a manila card.
