What is Narrative Text?
A narrative text tells a story from a particular point
of view and can be presented using words, images
and/or sounds. Its purpose is to narrate events,
entertain and engage the reader in an imaginative
experience.
Structure of Narrative Text
Orientation
Sets the scene and introduces the
characters

Complication
Describes events that lead to a problem

Resolution
Describes how and why the
complication is resolved

Coda/Reorientation
Ties up loose ends (optional)
Language Feature of Narrative Text

A verb tense used for a past activity or Example: Once upon a time,
something that has already happened.
