MRR3 – Human Rights Advocacy

1. What are the three (3) things that you significantly learned from the reading? Please
start by saying ' Before reading the article, I used to think that (insert thought). After
reading the article, I now think that (insert thought)'.

-Before reading the article, I used to think that issues regarding gender inequality and
discrimination are being disregarded and neglected by the government or organization.
After reading the article, I now think that there are organizations such as Human Rights
community and European Human Rights System that protect and impose procedures
that make women and the LGBTI community have a better place in society.

-Before reading the article, I used to think that we have gotten a lot of progress in the
fight against gender inequality and discrimination. After reading the article, I now think
that there is still space for improvement and there is a lot of work needed to be done.
Discrimination against the LGBTI community is still happening worldwide.

-Before reading the article, I used to think that our views and perception on
understanding sexual identity and same-sex relationships has gotten broad. After
reading the article, I now think that there are still nations and states that are not in favor
of the idea of same-sex relationships

2. What three (3) things about the reading are unclear to you?

-Issues about climate change and gender


-Gender orientation of refugee status
-The connection of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and AIDs connection.

3. What three (3) questions that you want to ask about the reading?

-What is our country doing in terms of Human rights security on gender?


-Some of the laws indicated in the reading are still confusing for me. Do other people
also feel confused when reading the article?
-What other contexts and variables impact human rights and gender inequality?
