A. Is there any real value to long-term planning in today’s rapidly changing environment? Why?

In today’s rapidly changing environment, there is definitely still a real value to long-term
planning. It is since the long-term plan is the one who will set the direction of the company.
However, it would require a deeper analysis on the current nature of the industry and society.
Regardless of ever-changing trends, it still remains important today as it allows us to control the
setting of the work. Also, it takes accountability in all aspects of the company, subsequently
whatever challenges that emerge, the long-term plans will give solution for it, so that organization's
maximum capacity is accomplished. Having it will keep employees organized and productive, and
will help the workplace flow steadily and efficiently as they will have a guide on how to move and
operate in the business.

B. 1. How important is structure in an organization? Why bother to make them?

Structure is very important as it creates pattern to by what means an organization work


where roles and responsibilities are defined. It plays a vital role in an organization that ensures
stability. Just like a building without a foundation, it will collapse to the slightest of tremble and
so, an organization without a structure will definitely fall apart. Organizational structures allow a
clear view of the managerial hierarchy. Basically, we have structure for the responsibility to be
divided allowing organization to function accordingly. Also, it improves human resource
development, proper communication among employees, and work efficiency and relationship.
Furthermore, it can also cause growth in the sense that weak ‘links’ in the company can easily be
determined, enforcing the company to find the right people in the right positions.
2. Referring to A, what is the type of organizational structure applicable to your [future]
organization (as constructed)? Why prefers such structure?

The type of organizational structure that would be best suited for our company is the
traditional organizational structure, specifically the functional structure. It is commonly observed
for food processing companies and as we aim to be a lead innovator in dairy technology and
production, we believe that assigning a task for our people in their related skills would increase the
efficiency of performance in our company. Teamwork will be observed and conceptualizing of ideas
will go properly and effectively, as employees will be at ease to interact with those with their same
expertise. In this kind of structure, the organization would be more composed and that when issues emerge,
it is much simpler to give the task to the team that has skill about the issue. As a result, we can positively
challenge our employees' limitations and inspire fresh ideas for the Philippine dairy industry's
future.
