Lunch break should be an hour long.

“Most of the kids in the U.S. don't get much time to eat lunch. And by the time those
kids wait in line and settle down to eat, many of them feel rushed.”
- National Public Radio

1. Lunch re-energizes students for the rest of their day: Food provides the brain with more energy
so they can focus more.
2. Healthier food: Pizza and burgers don't take a long time to heat up but they're not very healthy.
A longer lunch could give students time to make a salad or something.
3. enough time to eat. Lines are long so you must get to lunch early to be able to eat your entire
lunch.

Lunch should be longer because they could have healthier food, and they could have enough

time to eat.

“Tossing some pizza in the oven and tater tots in the deep fryer doesn't take long. However,

making healthy lunches is more time consuming for cafeteria staff and students. For example,

Greenville, S.C., schools installed salad bars in their cafeterias, a healthy option, but one that takes

longer since students have to make their salads and then eat them, as reported by North Carolina's

WSPA 7. A longer school lunch time allows students to enjoy these healthier menu items.” said

Livestrong.com. I believe that North Central students would be a lot happier with Make-Your-own

salads, not the pre-made ones the lunch ladies give us.

kids won't feel rushed.
