What is a Hero - #2
What is a hero? Ralph Waldo once said, “A hero is no braver than any ordinary man, but

he is brave five minutes longer.” A hero can be anything whether it is a man, woman, or even a

dog. A hero is selfless, a strong leader and has dedication and commitment.

Heroism is selflessness; where people put others before themselves. They are not afraid

to stand up for people. For example, a boy risked his like to save his friends and family. Also, the

main character from books show heroism. Not all heroes are selfless.

A strong leader is another example of heroism. Strong leadership promotes social justice

and morality and empowers people. Sometimes they face their fears like Batman. Also, a strong

leader is someone who leads their crew through anything and teaches their group that nothing is

impossible and that there is always a way through anything.

Heroism is not disloyal. Heroism is about commitment and dedication. When things get

rough, they keep going. Another example of dedication and commitment is loyalty. For example,

the main character in Mulan shows her loyalty. When the soldiers left her when they found out

she was a girl, Mulan continued to go to the town to warn everyone that the bad guys were

coming and going to attack.

Others may imagine strong and tough when they hear the word “hero”, but in most cases,

the hero is the inside of people and is shown through their characteristics of selflessness,

leadership, dedication and commitment.
