ADFScan v1.

9e Beta 1
====================

THIS IS A SOMEWHAT BUGGY PRE-RELEASE, DO NOT DISTRIBUTE!

Beta Notes
----------

All previous versions of ADFScan had two serious bugs. The first bug prevented the
deep scan engine from working on Windows XP, due to a not working integer-to-long
conversion. The second bug prevented ADFScan from scanning more than 32,768 files.
Both bugs are fixed in this release. There are some other changes in this release,
but they are not important right now.

Q: How to test the deep scan engine?

A: Just scan your ADF collection either in normal or quiet mode and look out for
one of the following viruses:
* Happy New Year 96 (Linkvirus)
* BGS9 (Filevirus)
* Butonic v3.00 (Filevirus)
* Saddam 1 (Filevirus)
* Liberator v5.01 (Filevirus)
* Disaster Master 2 (Filevirus)
* CCCP (Linkvirus)
If one or more of those are found, everything is working as it should. If not,
your collection is either too clean or the deep scan engine is not working at
all.
Report that as a bug then, please.

Q: How to test if more than 32,768 files are scanned correctly?

A: Well, point ADFScan to a folder that contains more than 32,768 files. It does
not
matter if the files are spread to sub-folders, nor if the files are zipped or
not.
If something goes wrong, a run-time error should appear.
