System Requirements
Server Software
The following software is required for server functions:
Windows Server™ 2000 (SP3 or higher), Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
(SP1 or R2), or Windows XP Professional (SP2 or higher)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 (provided)
Database software — either:
o SQL Server 2000 SP4 or SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition SP2 (provided), or
Oracle 8.1.7 or Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 or Oracle 10g R2 Standard
o If Report Expert is used, then SQL Server 2005 is required and Oracle is not
supported
Microsoft Reporting Services 2005 (provided) — required for Report Expert
Internet Information Server (IIS) — required for Report Expert
FactoryTalk Activation (provided)
FactoryTalk Automation Platform (provided)
Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 8.0 to view documentation (provided)
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 (provided)
ODBC Driver Manager 3.510 or higher
TCP/IP network connectivity

To view FactoryTalk Metrics reports (either Report Expert or QuickWeb) with a Web browser, the
following software is required:

server vary considerably depending upon the size and architecture of the application. For example:

FactoryTalk Metrics application where all services are running on one computer or for larger
applications where there is a separate database server.
To use FactoryTalk Metrics effectively, your server computer should be a "server class" machine and
