Dear Hiring Committee,

It is with great pleasure that I am seeking to secure a beneficial and rewarding teaching

career at your school. I am a May 2022 Dakota State University graduate with a degree in

Elementary Education/Special Education with a minor in K-12 Reading. I believe that my

instructional abilities, combined with my strong interpersonal skills and work ethic would be a

benefit to your educational program.

Even though my teaching experience is limited to the year I spent Student Teaching, I

have experience working with children including two of my own. In my studies, I have worked to

prepare for a career in education. I have learned about aspects of great instruction and know

that engaging learners is key. I am committed to reflection as I learn the best practices in

education.

I believe that education is the key to success for students. My aim is to provide a

stimulating learning environment that encourages students to master skills and gain confidence

in themselves as a learner. Through my coursework and studies, I have found that the method

of facilitating learning, rather than dictating learning, is a highly beneficial way of teaching. I

have learned that if students construct their own learning experiences, they will not only retain

the information longer but will also become more confident learners. I am excited to use the

skills that I am learning in my elementary education and special education studies to help

students become confident learners.
