Weather is the combination of the current meteorological components, e.g.

, temperature, wind
direction and speed, amount and type of precipitation, sunshine hours, etc. The weather is
defining a short time period up to several days. It is also a state of the atmosphere at a given
time and place, with respect to variables such as temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and
barometric pressure and describing for example the degree to which it is hot or cold, wet or dry,
calm or stormy, clear or cloudy. Weather refers to day-to-day temperature and precipitation
activity and it is driven by air pressure, temperature and moisture differences between one place
and another as well as these differences can occur due to the sun's angle at any particular spot,
which varies with latitude. On Earth, the common weather phenomena include wind, cloud, rain,
snow, fog, and dust storms. Less common events include natural disasters such as tornadoes,
hurricanes, typhoons, and ice storms. When used without qualification, "weather" is generally
understood to mean the weather of Earth.

Climate is the average weather in a given area over a longer period of time. It describes the
long-term (min 30 years) and average weather conditions for a specific region. Examples:
maritime climate, cold-dry desert climate, tropical climate. Global climate classification maps
highlight the high variety of climates. The climate is composed of different components and
factors. Climate components are describing in an integrated manner the current weather and
weather conditions. Climate components are dynamic and change permanently; continuous
measurement is necessary for defining and forecasting weather. They are: radiation, air
pressure, humidity, temperature, wind speed and direction, evaporation, transpiration,
precipitation, condensation, and cloud cover. Climate factors are terrestrial factors influencing
the weather and weather conditions. Climate components and climate factors are composing
the climate in its variations. Climate factors are stable and/or only slightly changing factors,
except the vegetation cover (land use): geographic, latitude, altitude, land and water pattern,
relief vegetation cover (land use) and exposition.
