Today all our class had a bitter experience. A new teacher came to our class. He could not
tolerate seeing a Muslim boy sitting beside Ramanadha Sastry. He immediately asked Kalam to go
and sit in the last row. Kalam did not talk back. He simply obliged the teacher’s word. But he felt
very humiliated. Sastry looked utterly down cast when he saw Kalam shifting to the last row. All of
us were shocked at what we saw. Tears rolled down my cheeks when I saw Kalam and Sastry
weeping. I became angry at what the teacher had done in the class. The new teacher should not
have done like that. As a teacher he should not have showed religious intolerance. In fact, all my
class mates and friends don’t have any religious intolerance. We don’t have any differences among
us based on our social back ground. I hope some parent would come to school tomorrow to talk to

Failures usually come in our daily life. They are always a part of all successful stories.
People like Abraham Lincoln, Lee De Forest, Wright Brother, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford faced
failures in their life. But they did not lose heart. Many people stop their efforts in their goals when
they happen to face failures. But great and successful people do not stop their efforts when they
face failures. They learn good lessons from their failures. They use their failures as the stepping
stones in their work. They do not go under depression. They continue their work with the same hope
and determination and dedication. They do not think of their failures. Thank

5. The treatment of illiterate people
Education should have positive effects on individuals and on society. But, now-a-days, it has
some adverse effects on youth .Youth are proud of their education or their white-collar jobs. They often
think of their fashions or dresses ignoring physical labour and orthodox ways of living. They ridicule the
rural ways of living and culture. They feel that it an insult for them to live in villages and to do physical
labour. So they don’t maintain good relationships with their families. They give least respect to their

elders and ignore their good advice. They feel that what they do is always right . They try to cheat poor
illiterate villagers. We sometimes read news of educated youth resorting to chain snatching and white-
collar offences. The adverse effects of education will continue unless education provides room for
cultural, moral and ethical values. So ,education must teach youth dignity of labour. .You have learnt
about the success stories of some great people in the world. None of them was born with a silver spoon

SPEECH BETWEEN OLDEN TIMES AND THE MODERN DAYS
My dear friends,
Good morning. Today our English teacher explained ‘Once Upon a Time, A realistic and eye-
opening poem. It mirrors how people changed with the passage of time .I do agree to the views of
the poet .I hope ,you too \.People in the past used to laugh heartily ,not artificially or hypocritically.
They used to shake hands wholeheartedly . Now people shake hands mechanically without showing
any emotions. They utter words like ‘feel at home ’,‘come again ’only from the tip ofwww.tlm4all.com
their tongues
.They say ‘goodbye’ to their visitors feeling ‘good riddance.’ They change their faces just like they
change dresses. Their ice-block-cold eyes and conforming smiles do not express any warmth .They
have become self centred rather than other-centred. In the lesson ‘The Dear Departed’ also we have
seen how Abel’s own daughters craved for his property. Hence, my dear friends, learn a lesson from
this poem and develop friendly relationships with your friends, neighbours and relations. This will

It pains me much when I hear the adverse comments on Ray’s films. I don’t understand why the
critics target Ray. No doubt, Ray is a giant in the Indian film industry. His films are highly qualitative and
didactic. When most of the Indians are poor, what is wrong with Ray’s depicting poverty in his films ? India
may be poor materially . But, the spiritual poverty of the West is much more deplorable than the material
poverty of India. I must standby Mr. Ray in this matter. Undoubtedly, Ray’s films such as The Apu Trilogy
are ultimate in Indian film making. In fact, I have learnt a lot from Mr. Satyajit Ray.

Respected dignitaries on the dais and my dear friends, www.tlm4all.com

Good morning to you all. I take immense pleasure in sharing my views on the qualities of
‘MayaBazar’, a land mark film in the annals of the Indian film industry. Friends, we all know that
‘MayaBazar was adjudged as the best film in the history of the Indian cinema. The credit goes to the
producers of the film, NagiReddy and Chakrapani and to the director ,Mr .K.V. Reddy. The film is really
match less in terms of action, play back singing ,choreography ,make-up and music. It mirrors the Telugu
culture , language and customs. Even today we identify the characters of the film with someone around us.
The comedy scenes are hilarious and are simply superb. New words such as ‘Talpam - Gilpam’, and
‘Asamadiyulu -Tasamadiyulu’ were used in the film. They have become a part of our language. Introduction

10. So we know what the people in the rural were asking for had to do with the environment. They did
not have those things because the environment was degraded .So from the very beginning we
understand that we have to rehabilitate the environment. Now prepare a script for speech made by
a local rural woman. The woman appeals to Wangari Maathai thanking her for solving their
problems.

SPEECH
Respected Maathai madam and dear sisters,
I feel proud to address you in the presence of Maathai madam. It is because of her efforts that we
www.tlm4all.com
have restored our environment .We must be grateful to her forever. Before her coming to our villages, we
had no clean drinking water, food ,firewood and fodder for our animals. The forest officials had never been
co-operative to us. But, madam has completely transformed everything by inspiring and training us. She
dedicated herself for the betterment and upliftment of our lives. She has made us ‘Foresters without
Diplomas’. She is our real goddess. Madam, our women folks sincerely thank you for Your kind help. We all
hope your efforts should be rewarded rightfully.
Thank you all forgiving me this nice opportunity.

11. You have read about the degradation of the environment in rural Africa. Wangari Maathai has
understood the problems faced by the illiterate rural women .Now imagine you were Wangari

Maathai and prepare a script for speech to address the African women.

SPEECH
4a

Dear friends,
m

Good morning to you all. I am glad that you have gathered here to discuss the problems you are
.tl
w

facing. Degradation of environment is a grave issue. But ,for our rulers ,it is a silly thing. Deforestation is the
w

root cause of all our problems such as short age of rainfall, changes in the rain fall patterns and shortage of
w

drinking water and food. It is sad that our government is giving priority to grow exotic plants which spoil the
fertility of soil and reduce the ground water level . The rivers have started drying up. Many of the farmer-
friendly creatures such as earth worms , snails and some bird species have almost disappeared. All these
things have caused irreparable damage to our environment. So, it’s high time you opened your eyes. Please
join hands with me to find out a solution to all these problems. I hope you would take an active part in our
Green Belt Movement to rehabilitate the environment. Thank you all for bearing with me.

12. Then three months ago, one of the brightest boys in the village-Thomas Agonyo -started university in
www.tlm4all.com
Lagos. He came home one weekend with a new Chemistry book, and spent all day looking at the
drums and writing thins down and talking to himself and shaking his head. We all thought he had
gone mad. Then he called a meeting of the village and told us that the drums contained poisonous
chemicals. He said they had come from Italy. Based on the above information, prepare a script for
speech to be delivered by Thomas Agonyo.
SPEECH
Good morning to you all .I am thankful to Mr. Sunday Nana for gathering you all here. I don’t have
words to express my concern over the danger prevailing in the village. The danger has crept in the form of
the drum spilled up over there The danger symbol on the drums indicates that the drums contain
poisonous chemicals. I don’t understand why the head of the village has permitted the trucks to dump the

drums here. My observation says that the drums are brought from Italy. The chemicals that fall from the
drums will pollute the soil as well as the water. You are all going to be victimised.
So, I request you all to raise your concern with one voice to fight out this menace.

13. You are going to speak on the occasion of the National Integration Day to be held in your on 19 th
November.
SPEECH ABOUT NATIONAL INTEGRATION DAY

Respected head master ,teachers and my fellow students,

Good morning to you all. I feel proud to speak before you on the occasion our National Integration Day,
today. Ours is a vast country with many regions , religions , languages and beliefs. It is a land of diversities
www.tlm4all.com
.Yet, all Indians feel that they are one nation. The under lying spirit of unity flows from Kashmir to Kanya
Kumari. Our festivals, art, literature and music bind us together. Even though we have twenty two officially
recognized languages and over one hundred and fifty dialects, we all understand either Hindi or English. Our
scriptures are the store houses of our religious wisdom. The materialistic progress of the West is no match
for our spiritual values. Our sculpture and architecture have gained world wide popularity. Hence, I request
you all to live up to the expectations of the builders of our nation.
I thank one and all for giving me this opportunity.
