Reflection Session and Reflection paper writing: CHILDREN AND EDUCATION

Reflection or Discernment is one of the most powerful tools for having a meaningful compass in life. It is through
quiet moments that we see things clearly, become more in tune with our feelings, become aware of our contributions
to societal development and problems, recognize our sinfulness and achievements, and of course God’s graces. It is
also the venue of welcoming new ways of doing things in our life. Hence, we say that reflection and processing of
experience are means for us to understand our connectedness to other people, community, environment, and to
God’s “greater scheme” of things – His greater plan for us.

A. UNDERSTANDING THE JOURNEY

1. What was the striking part during the Covid-19 pandemic situation, highlights of the
Church documents or social encyclicals that you’ve read and moments during the outreach
activity that has compelled me to think about or reflect upon the situation of the poor people?

B. THE ROADS I HAVE TAKEN

2. As members of a community, family, social organizations, or Parish, what can we do to
help our education programs and government system to educate more children? What can we
do more to protect children who are street children, abandoned, orphan or abused?

C. THE ROADS I HAVE NOT TAKEN

3. What were the things you wanted to do and accomplish but failed to do so during your
college years with regards to helping other people? Do you feel any regrets in having failed
to do them? If yes, what do you plan to do about it?

D. THE ROADS I WANT TO TAKE

4. What and how is/are your plans to help other poor people or build communities or help
rebuild people lives from the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic in the near future? (5-10 years
from now)
