India we have the largest democracy in the world, but we

feel the democracy is not functioning properly because of certain reasons.
So now the researchers are contemplating as to why this largest
democracy is not functioning properly? There is something wrong in the
electoral process. Here are some suggestions. Additionally, in most
cases candidates win elections by garnering just 30-35 per cent of the
total votes. Therefore it is impossible for them to be deemed the choice
of a majority of votes cast. First-past-the-post elections were designed to
address this anomaly.
