119th annual
May Pole Dance: As far back as 1923,
the children of Kaslo have performed
this traditional dance which originated
in England to herald the beginning
of spring. This year the dance will be
performed by the grade 1s under the
direction of the Grade One teacher

excitement of our May
Days celebration! Every
year at this time, our sleepy little
town awakens and becomes a vi-
brant, engaging centre of activity.
May Days brings together neigh-
bours and friends to mark the end
of a long, cold winter. This will be
the 119th consecutive year Kaslo
has celebrated the dawn of spring.
It’s amazing how the town
transforms – there’s so much to
do and take in! Car buff or not,

Shine on Front Street is an amaz-
ing spectacle of unique and rare
cars. You’ll want to wander over to
Vimy Park which is full of activities
all weekend long! There’s a market
offering great crafts, jewellery,
artwork and yummy food. Enjoy
some ‘home cooking’ while you en-
joy all sorts of live music or take in
a slo-pitch game.
You can join in for a 5K run,
take part in bird watching or enjoy
a guided tour of Kaslo’s beloved

equestrian skills, musical rides, buggy driving and
