Sept 2015 to October 2015 - Beach Cable Supervisor - largest current tidal energy project.
• Project located in The Pentland Firth Scotland
• This project is experimental in its approach to UK green energy obligations. My responsibilities
were to safely run 24 hour operations installing 4x33kv export cables on to the beach in a very
high tidal area. I supervised the preparation of the beach landing area and grading of the
culvert to accommodate the MBR (Minimum bend radius). I coordinated with the offshore
cable installation Vessel (Siem Daya 1 DP3) operational in the Pentland Firth to ensure the
correct one time positioning of the main cable pulling winch for all 4 export cables. I was
responsible for all rigging plans, creation of the rigging register and on site supervision of all
installation teams. My involvement resulted in all 4 cables being successfully landed and
signed off to the client.

May 2013 to August 2015 - Assistant Cable Installation Manager and Client Representative - 2
year $650 million Turnkey Power upgrade on behalf of Qatar Petroleum State Oil Company.
• LS Cable and Systems Installation Manager and Client Representative on behalf of Qatar
Petroleum involving the relocation of rare coral groups unique to this region prior to cable
installation with emphasis on budget and scheduling. Reference available from Tony Lim LS

• I carried out all monitoring and scheduling of project requirements to ensure timely submission
of key deliverables prior to the installation and construction phases. This included the cable
installation and burial procedure (RAMS) along with production of all supporting HSE
documentation, implementation of offshore Cable Stabilization Procedures, route Clearance,
PLGR, TEKMAR, survey and ROV procedures. I was also responsible for all supporting Guard
vessels and RAMS procedures. I ensured all notices were provided to mariners. I was also
responsible for procurement process, vessel selection and inspection, liaising with sub-
contractor and client to close out vessel punch lists including all reviews and amendments
where necessary prior to submission to the main contractor client. Administered permits, passes
and customs clearances as required. Generally I liaised closely with the client arranging and
attending all high level project meetings. I managed risk identification, assessment and
implementation of appropriate mitigation measures. Working for LS Cable of Korea as Assistant
Cable Manager in the construction management department office in Qatar I was responsible
for marine survey work, shore end landing surveys, planning, controlling and supervising of
offshore cable installation works and liaising with subcontractors. I supervised the load out of
7000 ton ( 100 miles) of 33kv export Cable onto the Cable transfer vessel Hangin Pioneer at LS
Cables Donghae factory in Korea. I Supported LS Cable offshore as client representative
regarding PLGR, route clearance of 200m of cable route, ROV survey, 2000 - 10 ton concrete
mattress installation at 64 crossings offshore and managed single handed all environmental
requirements and obligations

March 2013 to May 2013 - Offshore Deck Forman on board the Maersk Responder installing
Scour Protection System for Maske Site Services on behalf of EDF Energy Tees Offshore Wind Farm.
• I was based in the Middleborough Office and wrote the procedures for the installation of the
scour protection which consisted of 4000 x 8 ton rock filled mesh bags around the base of the
turbines. I was instrumental in both the planning and execution. I moved offshore to manage
two teams of riggers covering 24 hour operations for the full installation schedule. MSS
employed the 7000te DP2 vessel mearsk responder; a specialist subsea construction vessel, the
use of this vessel resulted in the Scour Protection Project team completing the project both
safely, on budget and ahead of schedule

Oct 2012 to March 2013 - Offshore Deck Forman on board the MV Pioneer. Installing 3 x 33kv

• Responsible for launch and recovery of deepoceans PCD-2 high performance 300KV water
jetting cable plough for the installation of the 3 x 33kv export cables. Responsible for all rigging,
lifting and deck operations, mobilization of equipment onto vessel and demobilization

January 2012 to March 2013 - Deck Supervisor on board the MVS Volantis for China National
Offshore Oil Corporation on behalf of DeepOcean

• Responsible for all lifting, rigging and deck operations, for this workscope CTC used the multi-
role subsea construction vessel MV Volantis, the vessel is equipped with two work class ROV's
and the world’s most powerful jet trencher ROV - the 2.1 megawatt UT-1 trencher
• The work was a major trenching contract for COOEC on the LIWAN 3-1 project located 350
kilometers offshore Shenzhen - China. The work involved successfully trenching approximately
174 kilometers of 30" inch pipeline from the shallow water host installation in the LIWAN field
development to water depths of 205 meters, also the deployment of subsea concrete mattress
installation operations

February 2011 to January 2012 -Deck Supervisor on behalf of CTC Marine for their client Bard
Engineering GMBH
• Responsible for all lifting and deck operations involving, successfully trenching, laying and
installing 80 subsea inter-array power cables connecting 5 MW turbines on the 400MW
development in water depths of 40 meters

June 2009 to January 2011 - Jeju-jendo HVDC link. Deck supervisor on behalf of CTC Marine for
their client LS Cable/KTS of South Korea
• The work involved cable lay burial and installation, ploughing operations to Install two 105
kilometer HVDC bundles with fiber optic cable with shore end pull-in sections of 1.5km of
Uraduct cable protection from Jendo mainland Korea to Jeju island in water depths of 160
meters
• I had responsibility for the complete mobilization consisting of 2 deck tanks c/w loading arms
and a fiber optic lay spread mobilized in Singapore followed by two successful load outs of
7000te (2 x 100km) of HVDC cable from LS Cables Donghae factory located in South Korea
onto the DP-2 cable laying vessel MVS Maersk Responder, also complete demobilization and
vessel reinstatement to pre charter condition.

jeju-jendo HVDC link project

February 2008 - June 2009 - Deck supervisor on behalf of CTC Marine for their client – Bluewhale
Offshore Engineering

March 2007 - February - 2008 - Deck supervisor on behalf of CTC Marine for their client -Saipem
• Shallow water ploughing operations in the Adriatic sea, Italy, in preparation for sub-sea burial
of 30-inch diameter gas pipeline for the north Adriatic LNG terminal, a major gas import
terminal positioned off the north coast of Italy
• For this workscope CTC used the 200te advanced multi-pass plough ‘’AMP500’’ using heave
compensated launch and recovery system to complete extensive pre-cut workscopes to
specification
• Responsible for subsea launch and recovery of 200te ‘AMP500’ pipeline plough, all rigging,
lifting and deck operations

February 2006 – April - 2006 - Deck supervisor on behalf of CTC Marine for their client-Shell UK
Offshore
• Subsea riser replacements on the Curlew Floating Production and offtake {FPSO} vessel
operated by Shell UK located in the Central North Sea 210km east of Aberdeen
• The scope of work for this project was the recovery of two flexible risers which pass over a sub-
sea mid water arch and also included the installation of two replacement risers. The risers were
approximately 300 meters in length and located in a water depth of 90 meters.
• The Maersk 'R' class vessel MVS responder was mobilized with a flexible lay system for this project
• Responsible for all rigging, lifting and deck operations, Mobilisation, Demobilisation of vessel
• CTC was successful in assisting Shell UK in renewing their riser facilities on a very short turnaround

May 2005 - August 2005 - Deck supervisor on behalf of CTC Marine for their client-BP UK

• Installation and trenching of 40 km of Seismic cable with Seismic Sensor Pods for BP { LOFTS} life
of field seismic’ project over a 13 km 2 pilot area of the Clair field 75km west of the Shetland
Islands. BP commissioned the cable systems for their 2 x LoFS applications from Geospace
Engineering Resources International (GERI)
• The seabed part of LoFS systems was entirely buried into the seabed using CTCs T-2 48te dual
