Role of
KINETIC ENERGY
in
PARAGLIGING
*PARAGLIDING*
 Paragliding is the recreational and
competitive adventure sport of flying
paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-
launched glider aircraft with no rigid
primary structure.
*PARAGLIGING IN SIKKIM*
Paragliding in Sikkim offers you:
 the breathtaking view of the Himalayas
 soaring high above the gorgeous valleys
 catch the bird’s eye view of the beautiful
city of Gangtok
 experience unpolluted clear route
accompanied by well-trained professionals
for a safe and adventurous experience.
*Best Time For Paragliding In
Sikkim*
1. It is best to do paragliding only when
 the sky is clear
 the weather is good
 you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the
natural beauty
2. The ideal time for paragliding is between
the months of March to June and
September to November. The weather
during this time is quite pleasant and the
sky stays clear most of the time.
*KINETIC ENERGY*
 In physics, the kinetic energy (KE) of an
object is the energy that it possesses due
to its motion.
 It is defined as the work needed to
accelerate a body of a given mass from
rest to its stated velocity.
 Having gained this energy during its
acceleration, the body maintains this
kinetic energy unless its speed changes.
*ROLE OF KE IN PARAGLIDING*

 The glider creates velocity by converting

the potential energy that it has
accumulated into kinetic energy as it
glides downward, trading height for
distance. In essence, the gravity vector
becomes the horizontal forward thrust
vector component. Gliders are
always descending relative to the air in
which they are flying.
