Rules for team formation:

1. Teams need not comprise of the same members as in the qualifying round.
2. Team names need not be the same as in the qualifying round.
3. Each team must select a Team Representative.
a. In the absence of a chosen representative, Debater 1 will automatically be assumed in
the role.
4. At least 2 members of the team should have qualified for Maha Behes 2018.
5. All members of the team should belong to the same age Division (Cubs or Lions)
a. Exception will be made for Cubs who choose to compete in the Lions Division

A valid team registration for Maha Behes 2018 must adhere to the following checklist:

● Registration Fee for a team of qualifiers: ₹3600/-
● Registration fee for a team with a non qualified member: ₹4400/-

Maha Behes 2018 Registration Process:

Registrations for Maha Behes 2018 will officially be open from 15th September till 5th
December 2018 or 600 registrations, whichever comes first.

Register through your school: To register your team with the school provide the details
mentioned in the checklist above to your school’s Behes Coordinator. The final registration
process with schools might differ from case to case.

Wildcard Team Registration:

And now for the wildest of you lot- the ones who want to team up with 2 non-qualifiers or your friends who
are just too busy to hop onto a bus to their next nearest Behes Round, this is the road to take.

From 15th september onwards, we will be accepting Wildcard Team Applications. All the wildcard
applicant teams will have to collaborate and write an essay on “Why my team deserves to be at the Maha
Behes 2018.” You can of course ask your mom to write it for you, but it wouldn’t help much at Maha
Behes 2018, would it?!

Every 14 days Behes will announce the wildcard qualifiers on our website- www.behes.org. Once the
wildcard qualifiers are announced, applicants will be required to register and pay online within 10 days of
the announcement.

The Wildcard window will close on 1st November for outstation debaters, while for host zone debaters the
window will remain open till the 5th of December 2018.
