Chapter 1: Yamunashtakam
kalindagirimastake patadamandapurojjvala
vilasa gamanollasatprakata ganda shailonata
saghoshagatidantura samadhirudhadolottama
mukundarativardhini jayati padmabandhoh suta
Appearing from the heart of Lord Narayan , Shri Yamunaji cascades from the summit of the Kalindi mountain
with brilliance. She descends the rocky sides of Kalindi with dalliance, Her waters roaring as She appears to be
swaying in a lovely swing. Glories to Shri Yamunaji, the daughter of the sun, Who increases the bhakta's love for
Mukunda. (2)
tadevaitatprakarena bhavatitisrytermatam
dvirupam capi gangavajjneyam sa jalarupini
mahatmyasamyuta nrnam sevatam bhuktimuktida
maryadamargavidhina tatha brahmapi budhyatam
If we look at this world with regard to what the Vedic texts say, we see that it is purely Brahman and that it has a
dual nature that can be understood by the example of the Ganges river. One form of the Ganges river is her water. It
is seen by all. The second form is that of the holy Ganges, the pilgrimage site that is filled with spiritual greatness.
This form of the Ganges is honored by practitioners who worship her according to the guidelines of the scriptures.
The Ganges grants them enjoyment or even liberation.
pravahadivibhedena bhagvatkaryasiddhaye
pushtaya vimishrah sarvajnah pravahena kriyaratah
The Blessed One created them to fullfill His own purpose. Those who are grace combined with grace, ( pushti mixed
with pushti) are all-knowing. Those who are souls of grace but are mixed with worldly flow are inclined towards
action.
Sometimes the Blessed Lord may put a curse on a blessed follower who has become prideful in order to reestablish
him or her back upon the path in this world.

Chapter 5: Siddhanta Rahasyam
Introduction : Shri Vallabhacharya’s Secret Doctrine is Shri Krishna’s direct response to the master’s concern
about how divine souls can achieve their Blissful Lord during this impure age of Kali. The foundations of his Path of
Grace were established on that auspicious night, by the banks of the Yamuna river in the sacred town of Gokul by
Shri Krishna Himself. The secrets of soulful dedication and divine connection are revealed in the following eight
slokas.
sahajadeshakalottha lokavedanirpitah
samyogjah sparshajascha na mantavyah kathananchana
They are mentioned in Vedic and worldly texts and concern natural impurities as well as impurities relating to time,
place, association and physical contact. After taking Brahma Sambandha they should no longer be considered valid.

Chapter 9: Krushnashraya Stotram (Refuge in Krishna)
Introduction : In this teaching, Shri Vallabhacharya surveys the contrary conditions that prevailed in India some
five hundred years ago and advises his followers to seek Krishna refuge in every condition. It was written for his
follower Bula Mishra in about 1514 A.D. Bhaktas daily recite this text while in seva to help establish their total
shelter in Krishna.
Gangaaditirthavaryesu dustairevavrtesvih
Tirohitaadhidaivesu Krishna eva gatirmama || 3 ||
The Ganga and other holy places have been surrounded by wicked people. The Gods no longer reveal themselves.
The presiding devas have hidden themselves. Krishna alone is my refuge.
Aparijnananastesu mantresvavratayogisu
Tirohitaarthadeveshu Krishna eva gatir mama || 5 ||
True knowledge has been lost along with the proper use of mantras, fasts and yoga. Inner meanings and the devas
have all become concealed. Krishna alone is my refuge.
Nanaavaadavinastesu sarvakrmavrataadisu
Paasandaika pratyanesu Krishna eva gatirmama || 6 ||
Many different false teachings have destroyed all the pious karmas and religious observances. People’s spiritual
undertakings are filled with hypocracy. Krishna alone is my refuge.
Sarvasaamarthyasahitah sarvatraivaakhilaarthakrt
Sharnasthasamuddhhram Krinam vijnaapayaamyaham || 10 ||
I pray to you Krishna, Who is full of all powers and accomplishes the bhakta’s desires in every circumstance. You
uplift those who take your shelter.

Gunbhedastu Tavanto Yavanto Hi Jale Mataha
After bowing down to Hari, I shall narrate twenty different types of emotions, which indicate distinction in the
attributes of Kathakars, which will remove all doubts. There are in fact as many differences in emotions in kathakars
as are spelled out in scriptures in respect of water. (1, 1 1/2)

Like water which has entered fields reciters of GOD's glory for welfare of their family are the cause of generating
worldly feelings. Those songsters who are obsessed and keep company of hariots etc., are like water in a pit. Those
base songsters who depend for their existence on singing are like water of sumps, meant for storage of filthy water.
