Modern School is a place where not only education is embibed

into the children but they are tought the way of living life , it’s a
place where dreams are not mere to visualise in sleep instead
dreams are considered as goals which are to be achieved.
Our school was the perfect result of a visionary’s dream. That visionary was Sir
Lala Raghubir Singh Ji who was on 5th September, 1895. At that time, our
country was in a continuous struggle against the British. Young Lala ji’s mind
was greatly impacted by the surroundings in which he grew up. The great
National leaders of that time - Mahatma Gandhi, Tagore, Master Amir Chand,
Rev Charles F. Andrews, Sarojini Naidu – worked closely with Lala ji’s father.
Young Lala ji’s mind was shaped and greatly influenced by the ideas and values
of these eminent men and women. He soon decided to establish an
educational institution with a mix of Indian tradition and culture and modern
educational techniques. Kamala Bose, the first principal, was a vigorous
educational reformer and often shared her nationalist feelings with Lala ji
about how there would be a need for better educational facilities once India
breaks free from the British. Lala ji had a vision that creativity should be the
cornerstone of foundation of this school. He wanted to provide holistic
education resulting in the progress in each sphere – intellectual, physical,
artistic, spiritual – of an individual’s life. He was able to achieve his dream with
the support of his father and by teaming up with people like Sir Sobha Singh
and Dr. S.K. Sen. They helped him materially erect his dream on a solid
foundation of moral values.
As Founder, he persistently worked towards the betterment of the legacy that
carries on till date. Many great personalities have served as principals of our
school, which took the position of our school one step ahead each time. Mr.
M.N. Kapur had been an incredible mentor to generations of students, as the
longest-serving principal. Modern School was established as a diverse
institution meant to provide India leaders of tomorrow, who would lift the
country out of the substantial problems of the post-colonialism era.

One of the biggest advantages of modern school at that time was the highly
qualified and super skilled handpicked teaching faculty by Lalaji. Modern
school is not only a school, it’s a place where future leaders are prepared to
lead the nation into right direction. Overall our school moto says it all
“SELF REALISATION CANNOT BE ACHIEVED BY WEAK WILLED”
