Dear Josephian Learners and Parents:

Ite Ad Josephvm!

While the private schools are left to practice their own discretion to implement academic break or
academic ease during this time of Covid surge, we have been monitoring the attendance reports
and health situations of our teachers and learners since Thursday last week.

From the monitoring, we have noted an increasing number of teachers and learners who have colds,
cough or fever. We have noted 8 Covid positive cases. There are also those under quarantine,
isolation and house lockdown among the teachers and the learners.

Our situation is not alarming, but we would always choose to take the preventive measures to
safeguard the well-being of our Josephian community.

In view of this, the School upon consultation with the Parent Council Officers and the
approval of the Directress shall implement Academic Break this January 20 and 21, 2022.

This measure means that:

1. We shall prioritize the health and mental well-being of our employees, learners and parents.

2. There will be no synchronous sessions to be conducted except for the paid Virtual Tour in
Science this January 20, 2022 (Grade 5 and Grade 6). The virtual tour will take an hour only and
this may help alleviate the emotional stress of our learners.

3. No additional assignments or async tasks shall be given aside from those that have been posted
already.

Those posted assignments, tasks and long tests with deadlines set this Thursday and Friday
shall have to be rescheduled.

4. Learners who are fortunately not hindered by any sickness or inconvenient situation are given
suggestions to take worthwhile activities such as reading their modules/textbooks/notes, reviewing
their lessons, taking IRP (for Kinder to Grade 6), accomplishing pending tasks, and others. Of
course, these activities should be done at their own pace/comfort and their need of a good
rest/sleep should be prioritized.

5. Other scheduled activities affected by this break shall be rescheduled.

6. Our learners are most welcome to contact our Nurses and Guidance Coordinators for
consultation or assistance.

Nurses – private message via Schoology or 0915-6695-900

Guidance Coordinators – private message via Schoology or FB Messenger (SJS Guidance)

We hope and pray that everyone will be safe and that those who are sick would get well soon.

May our patron, St. Joseph, protect you and your family.
