Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan for Kindergarten


SCIENCE

I. Objectives
At the end of the 60-minute period, the pupils are expected to:
 Identify familiar sounds in the environment.
 Differentiate a soft from a loud sound/high from low.
 Enumerate ways on how to take care of our ears.

II. Subject Matter: Science


Lesson: I can take care of my ears.
Reference: Kindergarten Curriculum Guide, Week 7, Day 5 pages 93-106
Materials: Face illustration with different parts,
different pictures/scenarios, art materials, worksheets
III. Learning Activities

A. Routine
- Prayer
- National Anthem
- Exercise
- Weather and Days of the Week
- Attendance
B. Motivation
1. The students will play the game “pass the message”. Each group will
pass a message by whispering it to the person next to them. The last
person in the group should have the correct answer.
ICT Technology (Playing different sounds)
2. The students will guess the mystery sound that they are hear.

C. Presentation
Ask the students which part of their body was used to hear the message.
Ask the students how would they feel if they cannot hear anything. Let
them talk about their experiences when they do not hear anything.
D. Discussion
By showing different pictures, give examples on situation where they
can see the importance of hearing. (Examples: Listening to commands,
singing, dancing, protect you from danger)
Lead the students to realize the importance of hearing and let them
identify ways on how to take care of it.
Talk about simple care for the ears such as:
 Do not put sharp and small objects inside your ears
 Do not let others shout in your ears
 Avoid loud sounds, lower volume of TV/radio etc.
 Do not raise the volume of the sound when using headset
 Clean your ears using proper hygiene kit

After the discussion, the students will do their grouped activities.
Group 1: Listening ears headband
Group 2: Sorting Loud/soft sound
Group 3: Taking care of my ears
Group 4: Making Telephone wires
Group 5: Mini Book: I hear with my ears

F. Application and Evaluation


After the group activities, the students will present their work in the
class. The teacher will ask questions to help the students process their
learnings.
Guide questions:
What did you feel when you do the assigned work in your group?
Now let us sing the Song: “Sampung mga Daliri”

IV. Generalization:
Our ear is very important in our daily lives because it help us to understand
the sound that we hear around us. It also protects us from danger that is why We
can differentiate the sound and now we are known, how to take care our ears.
V. Assignment
With the help of your parent, draw your ears and color.
