Holes, Patterns, Chamfers, Fillets

HOLES
Menu > Insert > Design Feature > Hole
General Hole is the default for Type. The dropdown shows other types.

Simple is the default for Form. The dropdown shows other types.

SIMPLE HOLES

1. Select face or datum plane you want to place hole on

2. Sketch Point dialog is displayed

3. Click to place point (or points) and Close the dialog

4. Apply dimensions to point to specify its location

5. Finish Sketch. Hole dialog will re-appear.

6. Specify Form and Dimensions of the hole
Diameter is the hole diameter
Depth limit is how deep the hole and can be set to specific Value or use the dropdown to change it

Value, will need you to specify Depth and Tip Angle

Until Selected, will need you to select a surface
Until Next, will use next surface
Through Body, will make a through hole

7. Click Okay to finish hole

Counterbored hole and Countersunk Holes require different Form and Dimensions parameters.
PATTERNS
Menu > Insert > Associative Copy > Pattern Feature
LINEAR PATTERN

1. Select Feature, click to select a feature (in this case a Countersunk hole)
2. Layout > Linear
3. Direction 1 > Specify Vector by clicking one of the blue vector arrows
4. Specify spacing by typing in a Count and Pitch Distance
5. If needed, specify a Direction 2 same way as Direction 1

6. Click OK to finish
CIRCULAR PATTERN

1. Select Feature, click to select a feature (in this case a simple through hole)
2. Specify Vector, a blue triad will appear, need to choose axis that is perpendicular to face on
which pattern will be created
3. Specify Point, clicking to select point that will be center of the pattern
4. Specify a Count and Pitch Angle for the pattern
5. Click OK to finish
CHAMFER
Menu > Insert > Detail Feature > Chamfer

1. Select Edge, click edge you want to chamfer

2. Enter a distance for the chamfer length

You can also select multiple edges:

FILLET
Menu > Insert > Detail Feature > Edge Blend

1. Select Edge, click edge you want to fillet

2. Keep Shape as Circular
3. Enter a Radius
