 End-of-Life for Legacy Morpho and Bioscrypt : Deadline for Support and last
legacy firmwares update

Dear Partners and Customers,

For many years, IDEMIA has been selling the two following ranges of biometric terminals :

Morpho® 500 or J Series L-1 Bioscrypt


Legacy Morpho or 2G Legacy Bioscrypt or 4G

MA-J MA5XX+ OMA 4G V-Flex 4G V-Flex Lite 4G V-Station

Since 2014, IDEMIA have successfully introduced the MorphoAccess® SIGMA series onto the
market and continued to add several new models to create a broad family portfolio. With the
World’s leading biometrics, touchscreen, IP65-rated design and multiple card reader options;
MorphoAccess® SIGMA series offers the ability to address the widest range of deployment
scenarios, both indoors and outdoors.

MorphoAccess® SIGMA family and its integration with MorphoManager is specifically designed
to smoothly deploy, replace or extend new or Legacy Morpho and Legacy Bioscrypt systems;
with no need to re-enroll users. To achieve that, the following features have been specifically
developed:
 Seamless backward compatibility from a software management perspective
 Support of multiple biometric template formats
 Combination of all the main features required by the market

Over the past 5 years, IDEMIA has been supporting customers to maintain their legacy
installations and successfully transitioning to the newer MorphoAccess® SIGMA family. We are
now entering into a phase where IDEMIA will focus on the new generation and proposing new
advanced services.
1. MORPHOACCESS® SIGMA FAMILY MAINTENANCE (Covering 2020)

We are pleased to announce that as part of our new support & maintenance general terms,
MorphoAccess® SIGMA devices will benefit from a 2 years warranty from product delivery
associated to support and maintenance services including the following services items:
 Hardware support covering repair or replacement service activities
 Access to firmware releases to benefit from the latest features and corrections
 Access to software releases to benefit from the latest features and corrections
 Access to remote support service through our 24h/7days call center

The application of these new general terms will be effective retroactively from January, 1st
2020.

2. SOLUTIONS FOR THE EXISTING MORPHO AND BIOSCRYPT INSTALLATION

As announced in November 2016, we have designed processes and migration tools to


introduce gradually the new MorphoAccess® SIGMA products into your legacy installations
with a very limited effort related to re-enrolment, thus enabling continuity of operations.

To facilitate the MorphoAccess® SIGMA Family integration in Morpho or Bioscrypt installation,


specific firmwares have been developed, called Legacy Firmwares: when the administrator
configures the MorphoAccess® SIGMA Family in any of the legacy modes; it supports the
database structures and configurations of the selected legacy terminal and software.

It is now time to announce complete end of life of Legacy Morpho and Legacy Bioscrypt
solutions, including end of support and the last Legacy firmwares update.

As a result, starting June 2021, the situation will be the following:

 Will my legacy installation continue to work ?


Yes - your installation will still be active as per current performance.

 Will I be able to introduce a MorphoAccess® SIGMA in my legacy installation?


Yes - but firmware version will be frozen to the latest version available (4.8.9 - October
2020)

 Will the legacy terminals and software be maintained ?


No - No more firmware nor software evolution will be performed and support will be
limited to legacy installation currently covered by a maintenance contract.

 Where can I find the procedure to guide in me in my migration?


You can find the relevant information on IDEMIA biometric web portal.

 Can IDEMIA help me with my migration?
Yes - we can propose you services dedicated to your specific needs. Those
services can be composed of, but not limited to, the following:
 Site audit,
 Consulting regarding transition plan

 Until when can I contract such services ?


In order to provide you with sufficient time to anticipate and evaluate your need for
those services, the services can be contracted up to March 2021.
